APPG
Communities that Work helped found the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Social Mobility (APPG) and agreed to the role of permanent secretary to the Group. The APPG was founded in recognition of the core role that social housing providers can play in supporting households and communities into sustainable livelihoods through employment, and with an awareness that more needs to be done to support the levelling up agenda across all of our communities.

Communities that Work worked with the APPG Officials to launch a national Parliamentary Inquiry into Housing and Employment. The APPG Inquiry examined the ‘tenant employment and earnings gap’ and gained influence as the pandemic took a hold of the economy: the policy recommendations launched from it are policy drivers for us in 2021/22 and we continue to work with MPs and Peers to pull the levers of Government towards housing and employment led funding and partnerships.
